In a dazzling display of talent and creativity, the annual THON’s Kids Talent Show returned on Saturday night. This event showcased an array of performances that left the audience in awe. In the heart of a vibrant autumn evening, the BJC witnessed an extraordinary showcase of youthful talent during the THON Kids Talent Show. The event began with a moving rendition of “Building A Home For Hope” performed by music therapists and Four Diamonds families, blending melodies and lyrics that resonated deeply with the audience. Following this, Child Life specialists entertained everyone with a playful adaptation of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” highlighting the activities enjoyed by Four Diamonds children.

Kionne Abrams, alongside members of Sigma Sigma Sigma and Zeta Beta Tau, electrified the crowd with a dynamic dance routine set to “Footloose.” His impressive flips and tricks had everyone on their feet. Hailey Wile then transported the audience into her world through a virtual flute solo, accompanied by voiceovers sharing her inspiring story. Mina Horan’s powerful vocals during “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift were met with enthusiastic applause and glowing phone flashlights from the crowd.

Georgia Bomgardner’s violin solo of “A Spoonful of Sugar” added a touch of elegance, while Celia Cosentino’s energetic dance to “Roar” had the audience cheering loudly. Mario Ouardi’s rendition of “Sweet Caroline” brought a Penn State favorite to life, making the crowd feel as if they were back in Beaver Stadium. Abby Munoz’s strong vocals during “Mamma Mia” showcased her vocal prowess, followed by Adeline Cosentino’s touching virtual performance of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”

Carly Wilfong and her friend danced to upbeat tunes, perfectly synchronized. Juliet Bomgardner dazzled with her ice-skating video set to the theme of “How To Train Your Dragon.” Melaina Horan and her sister led the crowd in a spirited cheerleading chant, capturing the essence of Penn State football. Shiloh and Harper Crimmel’s lively dance routine with the Lionettes proved they are ones to watch. Connor Rowan’s soulful performance of “This Is Me” from “The Greatest Showman” sparked another wave of flashlight waving.

Devin Pulaski and her brother charmed the audience with their rendition of “Good To Be Alive,” adding personal touches to the lyrics. Hailey Dougherty moved many with her original poem “Five Years,” recounting her journey through childhood cancer. Levi and Christian Krodel’s epic lightsaber battle between good and evil ended on a cliffhanger, leaving everyone eagerly awaiting the next chapter. Nevaeh Risser’s light-hearted performance of “From The Start” by Laufey closed the segment beautifully. Finally, 12-year-old Easton Fleagle sang “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons, playing guitar like a seasoned pro, bringing the show to a perfect close.

The THON Kids Talent Show not only highlighted the incredible talents of these young performers but also underscored the power of community and support.
